Reza Shaybani is the co-Founder and a General Partner of Emirates Venture Capital (EVC), Managing Director and partner of Scheuten Middle East FZCO and Member of Board of Directors of Solar Technology Centre. He is a serial entrepreneur and brings 16 years of experience managing technology-focused companies. For the past 12 years Reza has been establishing and growing companies in the optical media industry and has distinguished himself as a well-known and respected professional in the industry worldwide. In 1997, he founded the Optical Disc Group, a leading supplier of equipment and technology for the optical disc industry. In 2004, Reza founded the Optical Disc Technology Centre (ODTC), headquartered in Dubai supporting media manufacturing companies in the Middle East & Africa.
In 2007 Reza founded Solarjobs.com a global online recruitment company in the Solar Technology Industry. In 2008 Reza founded the Solar Technology Centre, offering a variety of solutions and applications in the Solar Technology Industry. Reza was appointed as the Managing Director of Scheuten Middle East in September 2008.
He has a Master degree (MSC) in Production Engineering and a BSc degree in Mechanical Engineering. |

Reza Shaybani, co-Founder & General Partner
Ian Jenks is the co-founder and a General Partner of Emirates Venture capital (EVC). Ian spent last six years with Crescendo Ventures, a Silicon valley based Venture Capital Fund, where he focused on utilizing his 20 years of operating experience to make investments in and advise Crescendo portfolio companies. During his time at Crescendo he sat on a number of boards including current portfolio investments Shozu, CoreOptics (Chairman), Novalux, Paxera, SPANSlogic and Zolo (Chairman). Before joining Crescendo in 2001, Ian was Chairman of Oplink Communications Inc., which he took public in 2000. Prior to Oplink, Ian was President of the Laser and Fiber Optic groups of Uniphase Inc. (now JDS Uniphase), where his responsibilities included the management of business operations in the United States, England, Switzerland and The Netherlands. Ian has also served as the interim CEO of Novalux Inc., as the Executive Chairman of IE Optomech Ltd. and sat on the boards of Altitun (acquired by ADC) and Crystal Photonics. Ian has a degree in Aeronautical Engineering from Bristol University.
